Loading the Game –
- Open the Commodore 64 VICE emulator (x64sc.exe)
- Drag the Argo [Fixed] (Tom Rugg, Phil Feldman, and Western Systems Group).prg file onto the emulator window
- The game will load and the title screen appears
Game Instructions:
- On the title screen, press any key to start the game.
- After 13 letters are randomly chosen and displayed on the screen, enter 3 to 7 letter words.
- If you mistype a letter, use the left arrow key to go back.
- The last letter doesn’t disappear but it will be overwritten when a new letter is pressed.
- Press the left arrow multiple times to clear the whole word and start over.
- When you have typed a word, press the Enter key.
- If you used a letter not in the chosen set, “ILLEGAL” appears and a time penalty is suffered.
- If you already used a word, “DUPLICATE” appears and a time penalty is suffered.
- If you have six words of the same length, another word of that length will display “TOO MANY”.
- If it is a new word with valid letters, it appears below the letters.
- Note that the game doesn’t track if a word is an actual word or not.
- Repeat until 5000 ticks of the timer has elapsed.
- Once time is up, your score is presented.
