Notes:
(1)
There is a typo/bug on line 20, towards the middle where it LOCATEs to a random position. It does PRINT”” when it should be printing some kind of star-field character. I have updated the code in my listing to include this. The screenshots in the magazine actually show two types of star-field characters, so it seems like some bit of logic was left out altogether.
(2)
The program listing uses a few non-text characters. In the marble-wars-2.txt, these are typed between curly braces. “{M5}” is one “M5” background character, and “{M5|M5|M5}” is three M5 characters in a row, etc.
Game Instructions:
This is a simple, but fun, two player game. Press Start at the title screen to begin the game. Use the d-pads to move the two marbles and attempt to knock your opponent off of the screen (or trick them into running off the edge of the screen themselves). The marbles roll around super-smoothly — quite impressive for a Family Basic game.
