STAR WARS FIGHT
FOR PC-8001, mkII / 8801, mkII N-BASIC

How to Play
What you’ll be piloting is the new A-Wing Fighter. Fight your way through TIE fighters that attack with unique techniques like spinning and the “falling leaf” maneuver.
The A-Wing Fighter (at the bottom of the screen) is controlled by moving left and right with the ④ and ⑥ keys, and firing missiles with the Space key. The game itself is a simple space-shooting game, but there are various restrictions like time and ammo count, so it’s a good idea to keep that in mind.
First, there’s the TIME displayed on the screen. This starts at 200 and gradually decreases, but if you shoot down 4 enemies, it returns to 200. Good thing, huh. However, if it reaches 0, you’ll self-destruct, and from then on, it will start at 100.
BU is your bullet count. It starts with 20, and when you shoot down 4 enemies, you’ll be resupplied back to 20. If this also reaches 0, you’ll self-destruct, and from then on, it will start at 10.
LE is your remaining ships. If this becomes 0, it’s of course game over.
And then, sometimes, a command fighter will fly by. If you shoot this down, you’ll get bonus points.
By the way, I heard the author made a game called “The Barrier Fire” before this one, but spurred on by his friend’s comment that “The movement is lame!”, he apparently remade it completely.
Author’s Bio –
Mr. ABESHI of the Seirin High School Film Club in Wakayama Prefecture.
I’m currently ABESHI, a first-year student at Seirin High School (Class I, #5), and a member of the Film Club. (You can probably figure out my real name from this without me saying it.) Anyway, I’m a show-off! I’ve been into microcomputers for 2 years. I’m also studying machine language, but I’m thinking I can get by with a compiler for now.
