Notes:

(1)
In the game's BG layout, I have moved the words "FIRE BALL" from row 4 to row 5, as the game seems to render the number of portions/potions on row 4.

(2)
There is awkward grammar and numerous misspellings in this game. I have chosen not to correct them, in order to stay true to the listing.

Game Instructions:

I guess you could call this game a very basic action RPG? I don't really know, but it's fairly ambitious.

The princess has been captured, and our hero must defeat five monsters from the Kamegon clan to save her.

Movement, Attacks, and Swap Potions:

Move Mario around using left and right on the d-pad. You can wrap around the left and right sides of the screen.

Holding down the A button will switch Mario's sprite into a Luigi sprite -- this is how you know you are in "attack" mode. To attack, just run into / through the monster. When this happens your vitality and/or the monsters vitality will decrease. If you hold down attack for too long, you will start to lose some vitality, so try to work on your timing.

Pressing the B button will shoot a powerful fireball in the direction Mario is facing. You only start with two of these, though you might get lucky and get an extra one in the Item Decide phase.

The game starts you with a single Swap Potion. You can use this potion by pressing the Start button, and it will swap your vitality for you opponents vitality. Use it wisely!

Item Decide Phase:

Before each battle, the game will randomly choose an item to give you. Not all of them are good. The possible options are:

- SWAP PORTION - An additional Swap Potion!
- DEATH PORTION - Your opponent's starting Vitality increases by a random amount.
- FIRE BALL - An extra Fireball attack!
- RED PORTION - Your Vitality decreases by a random amount.
- SHIELD - The enemy's attacks won't do as much damage.
- NO ITEM - You will get nothing.
- BLUE PORTION - Your Vitality increases by a random amount.
- SHAM SWORD - Your attack's are weakened by a random amount.
- SUPER SWORD - Your attack's become more powerful by a random amount.
- RED RING - The enemy cannot hurt you!

Can you defeat five enemies and save the princess?

Cheats:

The game has a built-in cheat! Check out the listing and see if you can find it.
